Couples and Family
Are you experiencing conflict in your relationships? Communication has been a struggle. Whether with your children, your partner, or colleagues at work, recent interactions with people around you leave you feeling angry, confused, and maybe even hopeless. You’re beginning to question yourself, your relationships, and wondering “What am I doing wrong?” and “What can I do to make this better?”
You need support and I’m here to help. I help people build the self-awareness needed to better understand what’s important to them and why they may be feeling how they feel in relationships with others. In therapy, you will build insight into your history and the lived experiences of those around you to be able to make decisions that are right for you and your partner/family/colleagues. You will gain empathy for yourself and learn how to advocate for what you need. We put it all on the table and grapple with it together!

I have over 15 years of professional experience working with clients to improve relationship and family dynamics and have been trained in several parenting and family treatment models as well.
I also work with people through and post divorce or separation and have the personal experience to know just how difficult these life events can be, especially when children are involved. In session, I will help you build effective strategies for strengthening communication and setting healthy boundaries in your relationships. If you are a parent, I will support you in developing positive and effective parenting and co-parenting skills that are child-centered and that ultimately lessen family conflict all around. My ultimate goal is to ensure that you have the tools to nurture your yourself and your relationships.
Women
You’ve been overly emotional lately. You’re distracted by your thoughts and worries and overwhelmed by challenges in your relationships. You’re not feeling like yourself anymore and you may be wondering “What’s going on with me?” “Why am I feeling this way?”
I help women who are often exhausted from working hard at home, at work, and in their relationships, develop the skills and insight needed to manage emotional overwhelm and to share what they need from others around them. As a therapist of color, I understand deeply how both societal pressures and cultural influences play a role in how you show up for people (and yourself) and that there’s both beauty and pain in this journey. In therapy, I help women see themselves more clearly and step into their power so that they experience peace in their daily lives.

I know it’s not easy to trust and that perhaps sharing personal details about your life makes you feel uneasy. The mental health stigma in some of our communities is real so I join this journey with you from a place of humility and patience. You decide where we go and together, we will build trust. It’s important to me that you feel validated and that you experience hope that things can get better.
Over the past 2 decades, I’ve worked with women experiencing anxiety, worry, and conflict in their relationships, and I have seen them succeed in feeling more in control and more rooted in who they are and what they need. They’ve learned about themselves and have gained insights around how their culture and upbringing have influenced how they move through life.
Through building a trusting relationship with one another and learning more about your personal journey, I will help you make gain the awareness you need to make the best decisions for your life and for your relationships. After just a few sessions, you will feel lighter and less burdened by your emotions. This is the power of therapy and of taking time to focus on you and your needs!
Clinical Training & Supervision
As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with decades of clinical experience, I offer compassionate supervision for early-career clinicians pursuing licensure as LMHCs, LMFTs, and LCATs. With over a decade of experience as a trainer in the mental health field, I’ve supported both new and seasoned clinicians through engaging trainings on topics such as ADHD, CBT, DBT, parent training, and cultural competency. Whether you’re seeking guidance in your clinical growth or training for your organization, I’m here to help you strengthen your skills and confidence in serving others.

Conflict Mediation
Have you considered initiating a court case due to a dispute with a landlord, neighbor, friend, or someone else in your community or are you currently in court? If so, you are in the right place! What you are going through is frustrating, unbelievable, and is probably impacting your day to day life. If you’re considering initiating a court case or are already in court, it’s because you’ve tried to manage this issue to the best of your ability and this feels like the only way to get things resolved.
While it is absolutely your right to get the courts involved, it can also bring on additional stressors that you may be able to avoid. In addition to costs you will incur, bringing a case to court removes some of the control you can have over the process and the outcome. A judge will ultimately decide and of course on the court’s schedule. Choosing to engage in mediation can put you in the driver’s seat and might be less costly in the end.
Prior to receiving formal training from the New York Peace Institute, I have mediated many workplace conflicts as well as family/co-parenting disputes. I bring in some of my clinical skills into the mediation space but mediation is a completely different process. The goal is to reach a resolution on a particular dispute in 1-3 sessions. In mediation, I will help you brainstorm solutions that work for you and ultimately create the opportunity for all parties to reach an agreement. If no agreement is reached in the first session, parties have the opportunity to request an additional mediation session to try and work toward resolution.
Mediation is YOUR process and as the mediator, I am there to help facilitate your dialogue, to listen to you, and move you toward solutions when it makes sense. No judgement, no advice, you are in charge!
