I See You and I Want You to Thrive
Hi! I’m Raven, a licensed therapist and relationship coach and I specialize in helping people who are struggling with family, romantic, or work relationships discover who they are, what they value most, and how to better advocate for their needs. With the right insights and tools, you will feel seen, heard, and understood in your relationships and you will start to experience the peace you deserve.
My Background
Raven Maldonado, LMHC
I am Licensed Mental Health Counselor with approximately 20 years of experience practicing in both community based and private practice settings. I value relationship and compassion above all else and center both in my practice and in my interactions with everyone around me. I feel a deep connection to how people experience one another and react to life’s challenges and this is what drives my work as a clinician. This is something I’ve felt since I was a child, growing up in the 80s, in a large Puerto Rican family where the abundance of joy was sometimes met with pain. What I learned growing up is that relationships create pathways to joy and healing and when we lean on one another, we not only survive but we can thrive! These lived experiences shape who I am and allow me to build authentic relationships with my clients. They know that I understand what they’re going through.
I have worked with individuals, couples, and families experiencing a range of issues from anxiety to family conflict and ground my practice in uncovering the impact of early relationships on how people perceive themselves and others around them. I am also deeply passionate about how culture and identity play a critical role in how we experience life and incorporate culture and racial identity in my work with clients. I utilize a relationship-focused approach along with tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based practices to help my clients live more peaceful and fulfilling lives.
