Child & Family Therapy

Are you worried about your child?

Your child is especially angry or anxious lately.  You might be getting calls from school about their behavior and the stress is starting to mount.  Your family might be going through a significant life change and adjusting to it all has been overwhelming.  As a parent, you feel responsible and worry about your child’s mental and emotional health.  You might be wondering “What am I doing wrong?” or “What can I do to make this better?”

You need support & I’m here to help

I help children learn about their emotions and build tools to better manage their reactions in all settings.  I build a partnership with parents to learn about their child and family strengths and to provide ongoing parenting support.  As a mother, I know how stressful it can be when your children are struggling and together, we will work to put your child back on the right path.

How we will partner

I have over 15 years of professional experience working with children and families to improve child behavior and emotional management.  In just a few sessions, your child can start to feel better and interact more healthily with those around them.  The goal of treatment is not only to help the child but also to support and strengthen the parent-child relationship.  I know that when problems arise with children, the parental relationship can become strained.  Being able to restore your bond is critical to the child’s success and to finding family harmony.

I have specialized training in attachment, psychotherapeutic interventions for children, and several evidence-based parenting and family treatment models.  My practice also focuses on working with children who are adjusting to divorce and separation.  This is such a delicate time for both children and parents, and as a parent with personal experience in this area, I have deep empathy for what each family member is going through.  My training in mediation and particularly in co-parenting mediation has helped me support many parents in learning how to effectively co-parent after divorce or separation.  Whether adjusting to a life change like this or not, I will help your child become more self-aware and better able to cope with big feelings.  I will also help you as a parent to be able to support your child’s success and gain peace at home and at school.
